PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Borough Council of the New
Morgan Borough will commence a public hearing on Monday, November 14, 2022 at
7:00 p.m. at the Borough Building at 200 Bethlehem Drive, Suite 102, Morgantown,
Pennsylvania for the purpose of considering a Resolution setting the boundaries
of a LERTA district within the Borough to be established under the Local
Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance Act (LERTA). The LERTA Resolution, if
approved by the Borough Council at its regular meeting immediately following
this hearing, would establish a LERTA District to provide an opportunity for
revitalization. If the LERTA Resolution is adopted, it would allow, but not
require, that the Borough and other Taxing Entities, including the Borough, Twin
Valley School District and the County of Berks, to authorize a tax abatement
schedule, not to exceed ten years, for certain industrial, commercial, and other
business properties in the designated LERTA District. A summary of the
Resolution is as follows: A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING DETERIORATED PROPERTY IN THE
BOROUGH PURSUANT TO THE PENNSYLVANIA LOCAL ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION TAX
ASSISTANCE ACT (LERTA), DEFINING DETERIORATED PROPERTY AND ESTABLISHING A LERTA
DISTRICT UNDER LERTA. Copies of the full text of the Resolution may be examined
without charge or obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof in the
Borough Office located at 200 Bethlehem Drive, Suite 102, Morgantown,
Pennsylvania. If you require special accommodations in order to attend the
public hearing, please contact the Borough at (610) 286-9666. The Borough will
make every reasonable attempt to accommodate you. BY ORDER OF THE BOROUGH
COUNCIL OF NEW MORGAN BOROUGH RE Nov. 3 A-1
